Vaibhav Suryavanshi: Early Life and Beginnings
Vaibhav was born on March 27, 2011, in Tajpur village, Bihar. His father, Sanjeev, a farmer, noticed his love for cricket early on. To support Vaibhav’s dream, Sanjeev sold his farm and built a small practice area in their backyard.
When Vaibhav turned nine, he joined a cricket academy in Samastipur. After two years of training, he tried out for the Vijay Merchant Trophy. Rising Through the Ranks
By the age of 12, Vaibhav had already made a name for himself in Bihar. He amassed 400 runs in just five matches during the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. Subsequently, he became a part of India B’s U-19 team for a quadrangular series in 2023, where he faced off against teams from India, England, and Bangladesh.
Though he didn’t make the U-19 World Cup squad, Vaibhav impressed selectors at a U-23 camp. He earned a spot in Bihar’s Ranji Trophy team and made his debut in January 2024. At just 12 years and 284 days old, he became one of the youngest players to play first-class cricket in India.
