Anneke Bosch Leads South Africa to the Final of Women’s T20 World Cup

South Africa’s chase of 135 was led by Anneke Bosch, who delivered an outstanding performance, remaining unbeaten on 74 from 48 balls. Bosch’s powerful innings included eight boundaries and one six, helping her team comfortably reach the target with 16 balls to spare. She was ably supported by captain Laura Wolvaardt, who contributed 42 off 37 balls before being dismissed by Annabel Sutherland.

A Solid Start for the Proteas

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, South Africa made an immediate impact by reducing Australia to 18/2. Beth Mooney (44 off 42) and captain Tahlia McGrath (27 off 33) tried to rebuild the innings, but South Africa’s disciplined bowling, led by Ayabonga Khaka (2/24), kept Australia in check. Her attacking stroke play, combined with smart batting by Wolvaardt, took the game away from Australia.

Australia’s Bowling Struggles

Australia’s renowned bowling attack couldn’t contain Bosch’s aggressive shots, as she continuously found gaps and cleared the boundary. Bosch fittingly hit the winning runs, sealing a famous win for South Africa and booking their place in the final.

A Dominant Win

With this victory, South Africa has made history by reaching their second Women’s T20 World Cup final, knocking out the tournament favorites, Australia. They will now face the winner of the second semifinal between New Zealand and West Indies.
