ICC Women’s T20 World Cup : Australia beats Pakistan by 9-Wickets

In the ongoing ICC Womens T20 World Cup Australia outplayed Pakistan to win third consecutive game of the tournament played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Australia won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. Pakistan all out for 82 runs in 19.5 overs. Australia chased the target easily in 11 overs with 9 wickets remaining.

Australian bowling attack

Australia started strong, taking two quick wickets in the first few overs, keeping Pakistan’s score at 23/2 after six overs. Muneeba Ali was caught out after scoring just 7 runs, and Sadaf Shamas followed soon after, getting out for 3.

Australia had a small setback when Tayla Vlaeminck got injured and had to leave the field. But their team showed how good they are with more bowlers stepping up to get wickets.

Annabel Sutherland took out Sidra Amin, who scored 12, while Georgia Wareham got Omaima Sohail out for just 3. With Pakistan losing more players, it looked like they were in trouble.

Nida Dar tried to hold on but was out after scoring 10 runs, leaving Aliya Riaz to carry the team. Aliya fought hard, scoring 26 runs, but Gardner took three wickets in one over, and Sutherland finished the job, ending Pakistan’s innings at 82 all out.

Mooney-Healy Partnership

Australia’s openers, Healy and Beth Mooney, started their chase fast, hitting lots of boundaries. Mooney was out after scoring 15, but by then, Australia was already halfway to their target with 46/1 after six overs. Healy, who scored 37 runs, was dropped by Nashra Sandhu, and it looked like she would lead her team to victory. However, she got injured while running and had to leave the field in pain.

After Healy , Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner finished the match easily. Australia won with nine overs left, almost guaranteeing their place in the semi-finals.

Ashleigh Gardner showed her amazing skills in the Women’s T20 World Cup on Friday, helping Australia win their third match in a row. Playing against Pakistan, Gardner took four important wickets, helping her team get closer to the semifinals. Pakistan lost by nine wickets, making this their second loss in a row, after losing to India on Sunday.

Australia’s big win keeps them at the top of Group A with a perfect record of three wins. Their strong net run rate of +2.786 gives them a great chance to reach the semi-finals, ahead of teams like India and New Zealand. Australia will face India on Sunday, 13th October. While Pakistan will play their next match against New Zealand on Monday, 14th October.
