Ashu Malik Reflects on PKL Milestone and Dabang Delhi’s Momentum
Dabang Delhi K.C.’s star raider, Ashu Malik, has become the first player to cross 100 raid points in PKL Season 11. Fresh off this achievement Malik shared insights into his journey and the team’s performance. Unfazed by pressure he said, “Pressure is nothing but talk. I enter matches completely fresh-minded.”
Training and Guidance: Key to Success
Malik credited his stellar form to the rigorous training camps and the guidance of head coach Joginder Narwal. “The practice in camp has been excellent,” he said. Joginder’s vast experience in PKL has been instrumental in shaping the team.
“He has played several seasons himself and knows each player’s strengths and weaknesses,” Malik explained. This unique understanding helps Joginder communicate strategies effectively. His player-turned-coach perspective has improved individual performances and team coordination.
Resilience Against Puneri Paltan
In their last match, Dabang Delhi K.C. fought back to secure a tie against defending champions Puneri Paltan. Malik praised his team’s resilience during the intense game. “Initially, their defense put pressure on us. But we knew we had to break their lead,” he said.
Dabang Delhi scored 15 points in the final 10 minutes, showcasing determination. Malik acknowledged the collective effort emphasizing how the team found its rhythm despite a shaky start.
Confidence Ahead of Bengaluru Bulls Clash
Looking ahead to their clash against the Bengaluru Bulls, Malik expressed confidence in his team. “The team’s morale is very high” he said. “We’ve been in great rhythm for the last three matches.”
Malik also highlighted the unpredictable nature of the league. “All twelve teams are evenly matched. Anyone can defeat anyone,” he added. Despite the challenges, Dabang Delhi remains firmly in contention.
