Mohammadreza Shadloui Becomes Fastest Player to Reach 300 Tackle Points in PKL
Haryana Steelers’ star all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh has set a new benchmark in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). The Iranian left-corner defender became the fastest player to achieve 300 career tackle points accomplishing this milestone in just 76 matches. He achieved this feat during Haryana Steelers 48-39 victory over U Mumba at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Tuesday.
Shadloui’s exceptional performance against U Mumba played a key role in his team’s success. His powerful tackles earned him 6 tackle points, cementing his position as one of the league’s finest defenders. In doing so he surpassed the record of his national team captain, Fazel Atrachali, who previously reached 300 tackle points in 100 matches.
At just 24 years old, Shadloui has become a cornerstone for the Haryana Steelers. Ahead of PKL Season 11 the team acquired him for ₹2.07 crore, reflecting his immense value. This wasn’t the first time he has made headlines in the auction. Last year, Puneri Paltan signed him for a record-breaking ₹2.35 crore, making him the most expensive international player in PKL history.
Shadloui lived up to his price tag during the 2023-24 season, finishing as the league’s top defender with an impressive 99 tackle points. His outstanding performance helped Puneri Paltan clinch their maiden PKL title.
Apart from his PKL exploits Shadloui is a key member of the Iranian national team. He played a vital role in their journey to a silver medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2022.
Shadloui’s journey in the PKL continues to inspire kabaddi enthusiasts. With his exceptional skills and determination he has not only broken records but also set new standards for defenders in the league. Fans will be eager to see how he contributes to Haryana Steelers campaign in Season 11.
