Manchester City Monitoring Bayern Munich Playmaker Jamal Musiala Amid Real Madrid Interest
Manchester City are keeping a close eye on Bayern Munich playmaker Jamal Musiala, who has also attracted interest from Real Madrid. Despite winning the Premier League four times in a row City are determined to continue strengthening their squad. According to a report Musiala has emerged as a marquee signing target for the English champions.
The report claims that Manchester City sent scouts to watch Musiala during Bayern Munich’s 1-0 win over Benfica in the Champions League on November 6. The 21-year-old scored the only goal of the game an impressive display that will have pleased the visiting scouts.
Musiala has been in exceptional form this season, recording eight goals and four assists in just 13 games. City manager Pep Guardiola reportedly views him as a potential long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who may leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.
Real Madrid Also Interested in Musiala
However, Manchester City will face stiff competition for Musiala’s signature. Real Madrid are also monitoring the Germany international but may face challenges fitting him into their strong squad. With stars like Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham excelling, Musiala may struggle to secure a starting spot in Madrid’s attack.
Bayern Munich, meanwhile, are not in a hurry to part ways with their star playmaker. Musiala is under contract until 2026 and the club is reportedly reluctant to let such a talented young player leave. He is currently valued at around €150 million but with his contract winding down by the summer of 2025, there could be room for negotiation.
Could Real Madrid Make a Move for Manchester City’s Rodri?
In a related development Real Madrid’s interest in Manchester City midfielder Rodri could influence another high-profile transfer. Reports from journalist Sacha Tavolieri (via GOAL) suggest that Liverpool are keen on Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni. The Reds have reportedly initiated discussions with Tchouaméni’s entourage regarding a potential move to the Premier League.
Madrid’s pursuit of Rodri, however, could impact Tchouaméni’s future. If Real Madrid sign Rodri, the 28-year-old Ballon d’Or winner Tchouaméni could drop down the pecking order. Madrid might then consider selling Tchouaméni to fund Rodri’s move.
Rodri is currently injured, and Madrid will monitor his recovery before making transfer decisions.
Both Manchester City and Real Madrid have the financial power for these signings. The summer of 2025 could bring major changes to Europe’s top teams.
