Litton Kumar Das will lead Bangladesh in the three-match T20I series against the West Indies, starting December 15.
The 15-man squad includes recalls for Soumya Sarkar, Afif Hossain, Shamim Hossain Patwari, Nasum Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, and Ripon Mondol. Bangladesh is focusing on rebuilding after the retirements of senior players Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah.
Najmul Hossain Shanto, who captained the team in their last T20I series in India, is recovering from a groin injury. He missed the Test and ODI series as well. It’s unclear if he will regain the captaincy once he returns, especially with his recent poor form in T20 cricket.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) did not choose Mehidy Hasan Miraz as captain despite his experience leading the Test and ODI sides during this tour. This is because he is not a regular in T20s.
Towhid Hridoy, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, and Rakibul Hasan were left out of the squad.
