Indian Cricket Team’s Exciting Schedule for 2025
The Indian Cricket Team’s first match in 2025 will be against Australia in the fifth and final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, starting January 3 in Sydney.
Recap of India’s 2024 Cricket Journey
The Indian team had a mixed 2024, starting strong with a Test win in Cape Town, a T20I series win against Afghanistan, and a dominant 4-1 Test series victory against England at home.
Their biggest achievement came in June when India clinched the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, winning all nine matches to lift the trophy.
In July, India continued their winning streak with T20I series victories against Zimbabwe (4-1) and Sri Lanka (3-0). However, the team faced a dip in form starting in August with a shocking 0-2 ODI series loss to Sri Lanka.
While they recovered with wins against Bangladesh in both Test and T20I series, India suffered a historic 0-3 whitewash at home in the Test series against New Zealand in October.
Later in the year, the T20 World Champions defeated South Africa 3-1 in a T20I series before heading to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25.
India started the BGT with a commanding 295-run win in Perth but ended the year trailing 2-1 after four Tests.
India’s Cricket Schedule for 2025
India has a packed 2025 schedule, including the much-anticipated ICC Champions Trophy and a tour of England for five Tests. The Indian Premier League (IPL) will also return in March 2025.
