According to CA’s policy, the ticket holders are eligible for a full refund if less than 15 overs are bowled on a particular day. Had 10 more balls been bowled yesterday, Cricket Australia could have saved more than 1 million AUD on refunds. Cricket Australia said a claim needs to be made for a complete refund for 30,145 fans because less than 15 overs of play had occurred. The national governing body for cricket carries insurance provisions in the event of losses due to bad weather.
It is pretty well known that even the coming four days will see rains forecasted by the Meteorological Department concerning the Gaba Test. This possibly puts the third Test under a huge risk of cancellation. Currently, both teams are tied at 1-all in the five-match Test series. At least 98 overs will be bowled every day as part of the third Test, as rain flooded the first day of play in the Gaba Test.
