Record-Breaking Feat: Gurbaz Surpasses Kohli and Babar Azam

In this innings, Gurbaz achieved his eighth ODI century faster than many legendary players, including Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. He reached this milestone in just 46 innings at the age of 22, a feat only matched by greats like Sachin Tendulkar and Quinton de Kock at such a young age. While Kohli had 7 centuries at this stage, Gurbaz has now surpassed him and sits in third place for reaching 8 centuries in the fewest ODI innings

Afghanistan didn’t have the best start, with early dismissals of Sediqullah Atal, Rahmat Shah, and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi. However, Gurbaz found support from Umarzai, with whom he shared a century partnership for the fourth wicket. After Gurbaz’s dismissal, Umarzai and Mohammad Nabi finished the job. Nabi remained unbeaten on 34 off 27 balls, while Umarzai scored a steady 70 not out, ensuring Afghanistan’s win.

This victory marks Afghanistan’s third consecutive ODI series win, a strong milestone for the team
